Volume 24 of Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen arrives from Ki-oon with one of the series' most unsettling cover images yet: a cherubic, blonde-haired figure wearing a golden halo and bird-like wings, its wide green eyes staring directly at the viewer while a disturbing cluster of many hands press together at its chest. The subtitle "Naissance de la matrice : récursion" ("Birth of the Matrix: Recursion") hints at something profound and deeply strange unfolding within. It's a 2024 release that captures Akutami's singular gift for wrapping genuinely eerie imagery in a deceptively serene shell.
