Ides of Blood #4

This fourth issue of WildStorm's Ides of Blood arrives in January 2011 with a cover by Michael Geiger that is equal parts ritualistic and unsettling — a crimson-drenched woman raises a bowl aloft above a great basin of blood, flanked by massive beast-headed statues, while a pale, fanged figure looms in the foreground with glowing red eyes. The composition masterfully frames a sense of dark ceremony, hinting at a world where ancient Roman power and vampire mythology collide. Stuart C. Paul and Christian Duce's series continues to look like one of WildStorm's more ambitious supernatural offerings of 2011.
