The issue features a military story in which a sergeant on a dangerous demolition mission at an enemy ammunition dump narrowly escapes being killed when crossfire from two different enemy positions unexpectedly saves his life by drawing fire from both sides. After successfully completing his mission, the sergeant is later awarded a Silver Star by Captain Jeffries for his valor, while Private Johnny Perkins receives a Squad Leader citation for throwing a hand grenade in the correct direction during the action. The issue concludes with soldiers discussing a theatrical play written by Private Leer titled "Once More the Sun," which impresses military brass and receives professional interest for potential Broadway production.
