Photographer Kent Murdock is one of many special guests at the estate of radio comedian Ted Bernard. Unfortunately, Bernard's guest, movie star Irene Alexander, turns up dead, having been strangled. As the police become involved, Kent can't help but try and investigate the crime himself as he knows all of the suspects. It ultimately proves to be Ted's gag writer, Bert, who had been blackmailing Irene for years.
