A seventy-year-old night watchman named Pop accepts a challenge from two hardened criminals to fight them at a warehouse, but uses his wits and knowledge of the building to overcome them. Later, a man named Litch blackmails warehouse manager Hurder into arranging a marriage between Hurder's daughter Cynthia and Litch's son Butch by threatening to expose Hurder's gambling losses; when Hurder refuses to cooperate, Litch frames him for murder. Hurder escapes and goes on the run with the criminals, eventually leading to a car chase and shootout where Hurder attempts to prove his innocence and expose Litch's schemes.
