Clean Fun, Starring "Shoogafoots Jones" #[nn]
"Saint Vitas Dance" is a quirky 1944 tale from Specialty Book Company, spotlighting Shoogafoots Jones in a dreamy, wartime-inspired fantasy. Written and drawn entirely by McDaniel—whose signature appears on every page—the story follows Shoogafoots as he drifts into a vivid dream of aerial combat after wishing he were in the Army, before returning to a series of one-page gags. The cover by McDaniel captures the whimsical tone, making this a rare, self-contained slice of early comic book eccentricity.
