Carnet de santé foireuse #[nn]
From Éditions Delcourt, Pozla's Carnet de santé foireuse announces itself with one of the most disarmingly charming covers you'll find in 2015 French bande dessinée. The cover features a loose-limbed, gangly figure — organs visible through a translucent torso, a small bird perched atop their head — striding forward while brandishing what appears to be a spray can, as swirling ribbons of watercolor trace the title in vivid blues, reds, and oranges above them. Pozla's linework is wonderfully alive and unguarded, making this "crappy health diary" feel like exactly the kind of personal, funny, and surprisingly tender read it promises to be.
