Black Diamond is arrested for the cold-blooded murder of a friendly Indian after his horse Reliapoon is trapped in Silver Canyon during an endurance contest. Two days later at Fort Atkins, Black Diamond escapes and pursues the outlaw Hideout, who had framed him, but becomes stranded in the canyon without food or sleep. As Felsher closes in to finish Black Diamond, Reliapoon senses his master's danger and saves his life, after which Black Diamond is vindicated and reunited with his loyal horse.
