Black Diamond Western #20 contains two feature-length Black Diamond stories. In "Black Diamond Meets Billy the Kid in the Lincoln County War," Black Diamond encounters Billy the Kid and becomes embroiled in a gunfight involving train robbers and a dispute over a stolen palomino horse. The second story, "The Death of Billy the Kid," is presented as a historical account in Black Diamond's "Page of Western Lore," detailing the legendary outlaw Wild Bill Hickok's reputation as the fastest gunslinger of the frontier, his Civil War exploits, and his eventual death in Deadwood at age 39.
