Beware the Planet of the Apes #4

Issue four of Marvel's 2024 series Beware the Planet of the Apes arrives with a cover by Taurin Clarke that's richly layered and full of tension. In the foreground, an ape soldier points forcefully ahead while flanked by a snarling, weapons-bearing squad of apes; looming large in the fiery background are two imposing figures — a composed chimpanzee and a dark-haired human woman — with the ghostly visage of a gorilla dominating the blazing sky above them all. Clarke's warm, painterly palette and confident compositions make this a genuinely striking entry in the series.
