Keith Giffen and Benjamin Roman's charming Image series reaches its fifth installment, and the cover captures its delightful strangeness perfectly — a determined young girl clutches a handful of strings attached to a cluster of rabbit-shaped balloons, each one sporting a wonderfully weird, distinct personality ranging from wide-eyed and dopey to sharp-toothed and menacing. There's a lovely tension in that image: one small kid, hands full of very unruly creatures, wearing an expression that says she's had just about enough. For anyone who loves their all-ages comics with a healthy streak of the offbeat, this 2019 series deserves a spot on your pull list.
