Eric Shanower's meticulously researched retelling of the Trojan War continues with this second volume, *Sacrifice*. The cover says everything with elegant economy: an ornately hilted bronze dagger dominates the foreground while a ghostly female face gazes out from behind it, and a frieze of warriors in combat runs along the bottom — weight, consequence, and human cost rendered in a warm palette of gold and deep crimson. If you have any interest in myth, history, or simply outstanding comics craftsmanship, this 2004 collection belongs on your shelf.
