A la recherche du temps perdu #4
Stéphane Heuet's adaptation of Marcel Proust's *À la recherche du temps perdu* continues with this first installment of "Un amour de Swann," bringing one of literature's great obsessive romances to the bande dessinée page. The cover sets the mood perfectly: a elegantly dressed man in evening clothes and cape leans against a building's exterior, cane in hand, while through a warmly lit window two silhouettes — a man and a woman — are visible in intimate conversation, the whole scene bathed in cool nocturnal blues that make the glowing interior feel all the more charged. Published by Delcourt in 2006, this volume is a genuinely accomplished melding of Proust's psychological depth and Heuet's refined, delicate linework.
