# Catalog Note

This issue of Weird Tales contains "Under the N-Ray," a science fiction narrative detailing a spiritualist demonstration by Madam Losieva and her collaborator, Professor Ember. The narrator, a physician, reluctantly brings his friend Hodge, a reporter with a severe hydrophobia, to Losieva's séance chamber, where an assembled audience of scientists and professionals witnesses the unveiling of Ember's invention: an apparatus combining radio, cinema, and X-ray technology. The device generates an "N-ray" that stimulates memory and produces a "thought projector" capable of visualizing mental images on a screen. The demonstration begins with Chester Tubbs, a chemist, becoming the first subject of the experimental apparatus. The story combines spiritualism, pseudo-scientific invention, and psychological drama.
