# THE CAVALIER: September 21, 1912 Issue Contents

This September 21, 1912 issue of The Cavalier contains three serials and one novelette, along with ten short stories and several poems. "The Shadow" Part I by Arthur Stringer inaugurates a police-procedural serial in which a deputy commissioner encounters a woman visitor. "Two Women, or One?" Part II by E. J. Rath continues its tale of dual personality. "King of the Camorra" Part IV by E. Serato explores Italy's criminal society. The novelette "A Desert Eden" by Edwin L. Sabin stands alone.

Ten short stories follow, including "The Golden Deluge" by Gerald Villiers Stuart, "Finger-Print Flanders" by Paul West, "In the Valley of Shadows" by Laura J. Hinkley, and others by Frank M. O'Brien, Edson Smith, Beech Hilton, Frances Norville Chapman, Eli Moffatt Millen, Margaret Burrows Martin, and Vera Connolly. Poetry contributions include "The Cup of Life" by Emma A. Lente, "Listen!" by Alfred Vincent Marx, and pieces by John Troland, Mary F. K. Hutchinson, and others. An editorial "Heart to Heart Talks" by the editor appears alongside advertisements for razors, shaving products, pianos, and business opportunities.
