This October 1920 issue of The Blue Book Magazine contains two serials and eight short stories. The lead serial, "Gun-sight Pass" by William MacLeod Raine, is a Western novel featuring a protagonist whose adventures unfold in splintered peaks and gorges of the frontier landscape. "The Brazen Peacock" by H. Bedford-Jones concludes here, depicting two Americans in Asia. Short stories include "The Man Who Knew" (Charles K. Van Riper), "The Night Shift at Jaynesville" (Warren H. Miller) set in steel mills, "The Abode of Dread" (Franklin French), a sea story, "Coin of the Dead" (Lemuel L. De Bra) set in Chinatown, "Little Death" (Edison Marshall) about a mink, "The Gray Brotherhood" (Henry Leverage) featuring Chester Fay, an underworld character, "Man to Man" (Frederick Tierney), "Profiteer Plunderers" (W. Douglas Newton), and "Free Lances in Diplomacy" (Clarence Herbert) concerning Parliament. Additional stories address circus life, African wilderness adventure, and urban settings.
