# Catalog Note: The Fire Trailers

The Fire Trailers, by George St. George, is a western action serial featuring Tucson Tom, a legendary bowie-knife wielding Texas ranger known as the "Bowie Bravo." The story opens in Apache country where Tom has infiltrated a Native American village to rescue Dancing Feather, a golden-haired girl held as the Apache "Sun Priestess." After their escape, the couple flees through a barranca pursued by vengeful Apache warriors. Trapped in a narrow, increasingly impassable rocky gulch with walls that funnel them toward the mountains, they abandon their horses and climb deeper into the canyon. Tom and Dancing Feather find themselves surrounded by enemies above and behind, facing what appears to be certain capture or death, with no visible exit from the steep-walled ravine.
