# "The Gold Hermi of Colorado"
This serial by Buffalo Bill (Hon. W. F. Cody) concerns a mining expedition in Colorado seeking a legendary lost gold-mine. King Kendall leads a group of prospectors, including the volatile Buck Bradley and influential Digger Dan. An Indian scout named Red Renard warns them of death on their trail, hinting at supernatural forces, but the miners believe he knows the mine's location and refuse to turn back. Buck Bradley recounts the legend: a solitary prospector once struck rich gold but was murdered by vigilantes calling themselves the "Gold Buzzards" before revealing his mine's location. When the miners attempt to force Red Renard into revealing the secret by lasso, King Kendall defends the Indian with drawn derringers. After shooting off Buck Bradley's nose, Kendall intimidates the group into backing down. Red Renard then mysteriously vanishes into the mountains.
