# Catalog Note

"Millions on the Turn" by W. R. Eyster is a Western adventure serial featuring Fresh Frank Foxton, a charming drifter traveling by mule who encounters bandits assaulting an ambulance on a desert trail. Hearing gunfire, Foxton investigates and finds himself caught between masked outlaws and a trapped gentleman and young woman. After a chaotic skirmish involving lassoing and mounted pursuit, Foxton is captured by the Black Eagles gang, led by a calculating captain who recognizes him from wanted notices. The captain sentences Foxton to death for killing one of his men, with a bounty of one thousand dollars on his head. The young woman—apparently the captured gentleman's daughter—intervenes, pleading for Foxton's life and offering to ransom him. The captain counters with a five-thousand-dollar demand, which she cannot meet. The narrative breaks as Foxton faces execution.
