# "The Red Warrior; Stella Delorme's Comanche Lover"

This serial by Ned Buntline appeared in Beadle's dime novel series (July 1900). Young Comanche chief Lagona, inspired by a prophetic dream, rescues a blonde captive named Stella Delorme from Lipan torturers preparing to burn her at the stake. He claims her for himself, riding away on horseback across the prairie. Meanwhile, Texas Rangers led by Major McCullough pursue the Lipans, searching for the missing Stella. When Lagona's party encounters the Rangers, Stella's father embraces his daughter. Though Lagona refuses the Rangers' thanks—insisting he took Stella for himself, not to aid them—a pragmatic alliance forms against the pursuing Lipans, who halt when they sight the Rangers' superior firepower. The narrative interweaves rescue, frontier conflict, and romantic capture against a Texas landscape.
