# Beadle and Adams Dime Novel No. 894 (September 11, 1894)

"Arizona Dick's Wipe-Out" by J. C. Cowdrick comprises this issue. The Western adventure opens with a double murder in Yuma, Arizona: Desert Dave's outlaw band kills the wife and daughter of a wealthy invalid during a robbery. When local pursuers fail, authorities summon detective Arizona Dick and scout Apache John. The narrative intercuts their investigation with a parallel storyline of a caravan lost in Death Valley, its guide revealed as one of Desert Dave's gang. A second chapter introduces Quartz Corral, a frontier mining boom town where a man named Cap Wagner and his companions arrive claiming to inherit the Jewel Mine left by Wagner's brother Peter. They establish themselves at the Primrose Hotel while dealing with disputed mining claims. The serial mixes pursuit and detection elements with frontier mining narratives.
