# Argosy All-Story Weekly, July 1, 1922
This issue contains five serialized stories, including the opening installment of "Whispering Sage" by Harry S. Drago and Joseph Noel, a western tale set in the Nevada desert following two men, Buck Bodine and Shorty, who discover Paradise Valley and ride into the frontier town where tensions simmer beneath surface civility. "The Fur Cloak" by Edgar Franklin continues its five-part narrative. "The Ju-Ju Man" by Thomas H. Griffiths and Armstrong Livingston reaches its third installment, while Max Brand's "His Third Master" enters its fifth chapter. Kenneth Perkins's four-part western "The Gun-Fanner" appears at part four.
The single novelette is John Holden's "Hopeless Homestead." Five short stories include John D. Swain's "The Fist in Pacifist," Jack Whitman's "Vanity Hair," Lyon Mearson's "House That Anne Built," Miles Overholt's "The Pie-Eyed Piper," and Jack Bechdolt's "Twixt the Devil and the Deep Sea." Forthcoming is Elizabeth York Miller's "The Mad Verdict" and Isabel Ostrander's "McCarty Incog."
