# The Argosy for May
This issue consists primarily of advertising material from the back pages of the magazine. The visible OCR captures promotional content for various home-study and mail-order products popular in the early 1900s: music lessons by the U.S. School of Music; a fifteen-volume Library of Universal History offered by the Union Book Company at reduced rates; the Meister Piano sold direct from factory at $175 with payment plans; the 1909 New Americanized Encyclopedia from the Booklovers Society; Oliver Typewriters available through a penny-payment plan; and advertisements for plumbing school, real estate business, baldness treatment, eyeglasses, and undergarments. The cover promises a story titled "At His Mercy," though the OCR of that content is unavailable in this selection. The material reflects standard commercial publishing of the period.
