# The Argosy, April 1912
This issue of The Argosy contains one complete novel and five serials across multiple genres. Albert Payson Terhune's standalone work "As the Dice Fell" concerns John Smith and outcomes of gambling. The serialized fiction includes Lawrence Perry's "Between Two Alibis," a criminal procedural tale; Marie B. Schrader's "Shifting Suspects," a Western abduction story; Frank Williams's "With Sword and Strategy," set during Charlemagne's reign and involving the White Bird of Pepin; George C. Jenks's "Wresting a Pittsburgh Secret," depicting desperate struggle over a local secret; and Casper Carson's "Russia's Black Paw," featuring intrigue and thrills. Also included is Garret Smith's novelette "In Quest of a Queen," and seven short stories by various authors. The May issue promises three new serials: Seward W. Hopkins's complete forty-chapter castaway story "Where Nothing Got Away" set in the Indian Ocean region; Elbert D. Wiggin's African adventure "The Lure of the Nile"; and Edgar Franklin's amateur inventor serial "The Hawkins Relapse."
