Smith (Part One of four), "The Roaring Forties" by Arthur Hunt Chute (Part Two of six), "A Crown for Sale" based on memoirs of the Queen of Florania (Part Three of five), "The Handwriting on the Wall" (Part Five of six), and "Flood" by Theodore Goodridge Roberts (Part Four of four). The issue features eleven shorter pieces: novelettes and short stories including "Jeremiah Parsons—He-Man" by Harry Adler, "The Come-Back" by George Allan England, "Blondes and Bleachers" by Beatrice Ashton Vandegrift, and works by Earl Wayland Bowman, Charles Francis Coe, and others. Poetry contributions include "Smoke Fancies" by Margaret Wheeler Ross and "Immortal Jim" by Robert Baker. An upcoming serial titled "Sundown Cafe" by Kenneth Perkins is advertised, following a mariner named Glamours and harpist Modesta meeting at a marshland inn.
