# Amazing Stories, November 1927

This issue features four science fiction stories. "A Story of the Stone Age" by U.C. Fulle explores prehistoric times. "The Astounding Discoveries of Doctor Mentiroso" by A. Hyatt Verrill presents the exploits of a character making unusual scientific breakthroughs. "Treasures of Tantalus" by Garrett Smith, presented as Part II of a serial, continues an earlier narrative. "The Machine Man of Ardathia" by Francis Flagg depicts humanity's far-future evolution 15,000 years hence—beings composed entirely of mechanical tubes and rays, inhabiting glass-like structures and using ray-based appendages to manipulate objects and move through their environment. The cover illustration visualizes this evolved species. Editor Hugo Gernsback's column discusses space travel concepts and recent rocket-flight proposals. The issue also advertises vocational training programs for radio repair and mechanical drafting.
