Amazing Stories, November 1927
This issue contains four science-fiction stories. H.G. Wells contributes "A Story of the Stone Age," while A. Hyatt Verrill presents "The Astounding Discoveries of Doctor Mentiroso." Garret Smith continues a two-part serial "Treasures of Tantalus" with Part II. The featured story is "The Machine Man of Ardathia" by Francis Flagg, imagining human evolution 35,000 years hence as glass-like beings manipulating matter through controlled rays, with visual illustration showing one such creature demonstrating its ray-powers by suspending a man in midair. The cover announces Jules Verne's "Robur the Conqueror" and Wells's "The Country of the Blind" forthcoming. The issue also features instructional content advertising technical education programs in electricity and radio.
