# Museum Catalog Note: Amazing Stories, December 1926
This December 1926 issue of Amazing Stories features science fiction serials and short stories. The lead serial is H. G. Wells's The First Men in the Moon (Part I), in which explorers encounter a superhuman insect race inhabiting the moon's interior. Garrett P. Serviss's serial The Second Deluge concludes in this issue, depicting a catastrophic flood that covers the Himalayas with mysterious survivors. Additional stories include Edwin Balmer and William B. MacHarg's The Man Higher Up, A. Hyatt Verrill's Through the Crater's Rim, Augusto Bissiri's The Lord of the Winds, Samuel M. Sargent Jr.'s The Telepathic Pick-Up, Charles S. Wolfe's The Educated Harpoon, and the reprint The Diamond Lens by Fitz-James O'Brien. Ray's The Time Eliminator appears alongside coming attractions including Murray Leinster's The Red Dust and Verrill's The Man Who Could Vanish. The issue features a cover-illustration contest inviting reader-written stories.
