# Content of 10-Story Detective Magazine, Vol. 1, No. 1 (January 1938)
This detective fiction quarterly contains nine short stories and two novelettes. The lead novel, "Bulldog of Justice" by Ralph Powers, follows District Attorney Jack Webster as he pursues a criminal lawyer whose courtroom trickery freed a convicted man, forcing Webster to navigate both legal obstacles and organized crime. Eric Lennox's "Murder on the Cuff" features a columnist-turned-detective solving a case in ten seconds. John Gregory's "The Masked Alibi" follows State Trooper Hal Roberts investigating charred evidence. Paul Adams contributes "Satan's Showdown," concerning a man's scheme to escape his wife. Harry Widmer's novelette "Second-Hand Suicide" depicts a young man drawn into the criminal underworld by an exploitative dealer. Remaining stories include Ronald Flegg's "Cocktails for the Corpse," William A. Langford's "Big-House Bait," Chester Brant's "A Date with Doom," Cliff Howe's "Death's Signature," and Leon Dupont's "Trigger Tribunal," featuring parole officer Tom Fargo implicated in murder.
