Ralf König

Ralf König, born August 8, 1960, has built one of the most distinctive careers in German comics over more than four decades, with a body of work spanning 284 issues from 1980 through 2025. Handling nearly every craft himself — writing, drawing, inking, coloring, and lettering — he brings an unusually unified vision to his pages.

König is best known for comedic, often sexually frank storytelling aimed at gay and queer audiences, though his appeal has extended well beyond that readership. His recurring characters Konrad and Paul, featured across multiple volumes, became something of a touchstone for an entire generation of readers in German-speaking countries, and the series also found audiences abroad under the title Conrad et Paul. Other notable titles in his catalog include Roy & Al, Pretty Baby, Beach Boys, and the Safer Sex Comic.
