Piotr Kowalski
b. 1973
Piotr Kowalski (born 1973) is a Polish comic book artist and writer best known for his gritty, atmospheric work on *Badlands* and *Wellington*. He entered the industry in the mid-1990s, bringing a background in fine arts and a bold, textured style that suited horror and historical fiction. His signature work often features heavy inks, expressive linework, and a moody palette, which he applied to adaptations like *Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three - Prisoner* and *Bloodborne: The Bleak Dominion*. He collaborated frequently with writers on *The Steam Man* and the supernatural Western *Let This One Be a Devil*, co-creating several original series. Kowalski’s later career saw him take on writing duties, expanding his influence beyond illustration. He remains active into the 2020s, with credits across 73 issues. While not a major award winner, his consistent output and distinctive visual storytelling have earned him a dedicated following among fans of dark fantasy and revisionist history.
