Jaime Brocal Remohí (June 11, 1936 – June 29, 2002), often credited simply as Jaime Brocal in the United States, was a Spanish comic book artist known for his detailed, atmospheric work across European adventure and fantasy series. Born in Valencia, he began his professional career in the early 1960s, contributing to Spanish and British publications before finding a wider audience in continental Europe. His most sustained output appeared in German and Swedish markets, where he illustrated titles such as *Die großen Phantastic-Comics*, *Helgenen*, and *Helgonet*, as well as adaptations of *Tarzan* and the series *Ögan*. Brocal’s style combined dynamic figure work with richly textured backgrounds, often emphasizing mood and exotic settings. He collaborated closely with writers and editors across multiple countries, though his own writing credits are limited. Among his notable co-creations is the character Ögan, a prehistoric hero, for which he provided both art and story. Brocal remained active in the industry until the late 1980s, with his last credited work appearing in 1989. He passed away in 2002 at age 66. While he did not receive major international awards during his lifetime, his contributions to European genre comics have been recognized by collectors and historians for their craftsmanship and consistency.
