Yumihari

In this four-issue series from Dargaud, Yumihari (2007–2008) follows a young boy who discovers an ancient arrowhead in the Japanese mountains, awakening a supernatural bond with a legendary archer from the past. Written by Yann and illustrated by Frédéric Volante, the story blends historical fantasy with coming-of-age drama as the boy is drawn into a conflict between warring spirits. Though brief, the series stands out for Volante’s lush, cinematic art and its atmospheric exploration of Shinto mythology.
