Sangoma

In the tradition of South African folklore, Sangoma (2023–present, Splitter Verlag) follows a young woman who discovers she is the heir to a powerful shamanic legacy, thrust into a hidden world of ancestral spirits and dark forces. The series pairs vivid, atmospheric artwork with a modern take on the sangoma tradition, grounding its supernatural conflicts in the landscapes and cultures of contemporary South Africa. As of its first issue, it establishes a rich, character-driven mystery that explores identity, heritage, and the cost of embracing one’s destiny.
