R.I.P.D., launched in 2008 by Egmont Ehapa, is a one-issue comic that introduces the Rest In Peace Department—a supernatural law enforcement agency of undead officers policing the afterlife. Associated with the franchise's core concept of spectral cops hunting rogue souls, this single issue establishes the darkly humorous, action-horror premise that would later expand into other media.
