Le Crocodile

Le Crocodile, a satirical student comic published by the Université libre de Bruxelles, debuted in 1853 with a two-issue run. The series was the work of Belgian artist and writer Félicien Rops, who also contributed under the pseudonym Cham-Loth. Though brief, it stands as an early example of Rops’s irreverent, provocative style, foreshadowing his later notoriety in European graphic arts.
