Tony Lee
Tony Lee (born Anthony John Lee, 1970) is a British writer whose career spans comics, screenwriting, audio drama, and novels. He is best known for his work on licensed properties, notably *Doctor Who*, where he wrote multiple comic strips for the magazine and specials. Lee's other high-profile assignments include *Starship Troopers: Damaged Justice*, *Steampunk Battlestar Galactica 1880*, and *Crystal Planet*. He also wrote the graphic novel *Dances with Demons* and contributed to *Del Rey Showcase* and *Free Comic Book Day* titles. Active from 1993 to 2022, Lee has been credited on 41 issues in our catalog, often as writer and colorist. He occasionally uses the pen name Jack Gatland for his prose work. Lee has collaborated with artists such as Paul Grist and Mike Collins, bringing a sharp, dialogue-driven sensibility to action and sci-fi stories. His later career has seen him move into screenwriting and audio plays, expanding his range beyond comics. While he has not received major industry awards, Lee remains a reliable figure in British comics, particularly for his contributions to long-running franchise storytelling.
