Stefan Printz-Påhlson
b. 1950
Stefan Printz-Påhlson, born in 1950, is a Danish writer and editor best known for his long-running work on Disney comics at Egmont Creative in Copenhagen. He entered the field in 1979 and remained active through 2021, contributing to titles such as *Donald Duck & Co*, *Andrés Önd*, and *Kalle Anka & C:o*. In 1994, he created the character Princess Oona alongside his wife, Unn Printz-Påhlson, and Chilean artist Victor Arriagada Rios (Vicar). The princess has since appeared in roughly 30 stories published across Europe and beyond. That same year, Printz-Påhlson introduced Tachyon Farflung, an extraterrestrial master criminal obsessed with stealing Scrooge McDuck’s money bin. With fellow editor Lars Bergström, he also developed a series of albums in which Donald Duck and his nephews use Gyro Gearloose’s time machine, released in Scandinavia, Germany, Poland, and Russia. Printz-Påhlson’s work is marked by playful sci-fi and fantasy elements woven into the classic Disney universe. His legacy includes expanding the roster of Disney characters and story formats, particularly through collaborations with Vicar and Bergström.
