Maurice Limat

Maurice Limat was a prolific French author of science fiction, fantasy, and adventure novels, best known for his work in the Fleuve Noir publishing house's Anticipation imprint. Born on September 23, 1914, in France, he produced over 500 novels between the 1930s and the 1980s, often weaving philosophical and religious themes into his science fiction tales. He also wrote under pseudonyms including Maurice Lionel, Maurice d'Escrignelles, and Lionel Rex. In the English-language comic book world, Limat is credited as a writer on 13 issues, active from 1976 to 1977, with his most-credited title being *Vampirella*. His later life saw him continue writing until the 1980s, and he passed away on January 23, 2002.
