Ernesto García Seijas
Ernesto Rudesindo García Seijas was born on 1 June 1941 in Argentina, and died on 28 March 2023. He is best known as a comics artist whose career spanned from 1968 to 2020, during which he contributed to over 80 issues as an artist, colorist, and inker. His most recognized work appeared in the Italian anthology magazines *Lanciostory* and *Skorpio*, as well as the long-running western series *Tex* (particularly in *Tex Gigante - II Serie*). He also drew for *I giganti dell'avventura*, *Tomahawk*, and *Star Love Stories*.
García Seijas entered the comics field in the late 1960s, a period of creative ferment in Argentine comics. His style was clean and expressive, well-suited to adventure and western genres. He frequently collaborated with writers and editors from the Argentine and Italian markets, though specific co-creations are not widely documented in English sources. He was a steady, reliable artist who helped sustain the visual storytelling of major serialized publications.
In later life, he remained active into the 2020s, leaving a body of work that reflects the international reach of Argentine comic artists. While he did not receive major awards widely noted in English-language records, his legacy is that of a skilled craftsman who contributed to some of the most popular adventure comics of the late 20th century.
