Brandon Peterson is an American comic book artist and writer born in 1969, whose career stretches across nearly four decades of mainstream superhero and fantasy comics. He broke into the industry in the late 1980s and built a reputation through the 1990s boom, contributing to both Marvel Comics and Top Cow Productions. His work on Codename: Strykeforce became one of his more recognized early credits, reflecting the kinetic, detail-oriented visual style that defined much of that era's action comics.
Peterson's versatility extended well beyond penciling — he has also worked as a colorist, inker, letterer, and writer across more than 250 issues, demonstrating an unusually broad command of the craft. Among his most frequently credited titles are the CrossGen series Mystic and Arcanum, as well as X-Men, Superman, and the Dutch edition De X-Mannen, suggesting his work reached international audiences. His tenure on CrossGen titles in the early 2000s gave him room to develop richly rendered fantasy environments distinct from conventional superhero fare.
Throughout his career Peterson collaborated with major publishers including Marvel and DC, maintaining consistent output from 1987 through at least 2024. While he has not been prominently associated with a single landmark run, his sustained presence across a wide range of titles and creative roles reflects a dependable and adaptable professional who helped shape the visual landscape of 1990s and 2000s genre comics.
