Aleksa Gajić
1974–
Aleksa Gajić was born on May 20, 1974, in Belgrade, Serbia. He is best known as a comics artist and colorist, with a career spanning from 2000 to 2019. Gajić is most recognized for his work on the fantasy series *Die Geissel der Götter* (also published as *Le fléau des dieux*), a sprawling saga of gods and mortals, as well as the adventure series *Carthago Adventures*. His detailed, atmospheric style—often handling both pencils and inks—brought a cinematic quality to these European graphic novels. He also created the series *Birokratija* and contributed to *Drako*. Beyond comics, Gajić has worked as a film director, bringing his visual storytelling to the screen. His collaborations have included working with writers on these long-form fantasy and adventure titles. While his output in our catalog covers 11 issues, his influence is most felt in the European bande dessinée tradition, where his intricate linework and moody color palettes left a mark. Gajić’s legacy is that of a versatile artist who moved fluidly between the page and the director’s chair. He has not been noted as receiving any major lifetime awards.
